Philatelic Journey to Tiruchengcode

Tiruchengode is a city and selection grade municipality located in western part of southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Tiruchengcode is under the Namakal District.

      It is famous for the ancient hill top Ardhanareeswarar Temple, dedicated to the unique combined male-female form of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi . Also called as Madhorubagan and Ammaiyappan (mother-father).

Arthanareeswara temple, also known as Thirukodimanada Chenkundrur .   

      This famous Arthanareeswara temple of Lord Shiva and a Goddess Parvathi combined statue of pictorial cancellation is available 
in Tiruchengcode head post office.

Previously I went to Tiruchengcode many times  , but not visited to this temple and also can't got this PPC in this Post office. 

On 9th January 2024 i visited to this temple. That day heavy rain fall. So climate very cold and Mist was appeared. This Temple is situated in the hill, so 10 minutes traveling in the hill road  . I was travelled in the road with mist on the day by bike . I very enjoyed. And i visited to the temple . 

And travelled to Tiruchengcode Head Post office within 20 minutes by bike.


 I got PPC of arthanareeswara on few post cards and envelopes. 



And also I got PPC cancellation on my Philatelic Journey Diary. In this cancellation with opted commemorative joint issued stamp already affixed in the diary.

And also,  i brought this joint issued stamp on Miniature sheet . In this Miniature sheet got PPC in the two sides & also got date cancellation.
