Philatelic Journey to Kolkata on 27.01.2024

Kolkata city - PPC 

Kolkata also known as Calcutta   (which was the official name until 2001). It is the capital and largest city of the Indian state of West Bengal. It lies on the eastern bank of the Hooghly River, 80 km (50 mi) west of the border with Bangladesh. It is the primary financial and commercial center of eastern and northeastern India.

Kolkata GPO:
I went to Kolkata GPO  . In GPO building campus with Philatelic Bureau, Postal Museum & Parcel cafe.

1st i seen Philatelic Bureau. This Bureau has nice decorative arrangements with Philatelic materials. This Bureau have 9 Permanent Pictorial cancellations.   I got 9 various PPC in some postcards. Each post card i got 2 different PPC.  I  shared details of 9 PPC in below.

1.Victoria Memorial Hall

I visited Victoria Memorial Hall in out side view only with my friend on 26.01.2024( National Holiday).

 Actually in 2022 already i visited this museum. In this museum have exhibited related to history of  Subash Chandra Bose .
 Really very Nice museum.

Kolkata G.P.O Building is Hertiage Building. It's pillars are very amazing.

3.Indian Museum
Usually i went to any city , 1st I prefer to visit Museum on that city. Because i  so much like to visit the museum . Actually Indian Museum is the best one,  is compare to other museum situated  in India. It is my personal opinion.  In 2022 i visited this museum.

4. Kalighat Temple

5.Kolkata city
I seen full view of beautiful Kolkata Howrah Bridge from  travelled  on ferry.   And i travelled on Howrah Bridge by Town bus.

After got PPC, i bought Commemorative stamps in the Philatelic Bureau. And I went to Parcel cafe , I took cup of coffee. 
     And i bought Philatelic T Shirt.
Some letters  & picture post cards , i was  posted in Kolkata GPO post box.

And i visited postal museum.
Postal Museum photography is Prohibited in the inside of the building.

And I went to Beadon street post office for get PPC of Swami Vivekananda House ., unfortunately it is not available in this post office. This post office Sub post Master not awareness about this PPC. So I was very disappointed.

I Got Unique combination cancellation in Kolkata Philatelic Bureau:
In the small envelope i affixed 5 commemorative stamps related to Kolkata theme and Kolkata GPO PPC  cancelled on this stamps and booked registered post in Kolkata GPO 

I requested postal clerk , pls affix  Barcode label & Receipt stickers in front side of this envelope. Accepted my request by postal staff
